Arte Y Pico Award

Wow, Can I just say... I am awed! My friend Sandy(Swap4Fun on SCS) just awarded me the Arte Y Pico award. Sandy is so talented. You should definitely get over to her blog and check out her awesome work!! I am also in great company of some other blogs that have received this award!

Now, the rules of the award are:

1. Pick 5 blogs that I consider deserve the award for creativity, design, interesting material, and also contribute to the blogging community, no matter what language.
2. Each award has to have the name of the author and also a link to his/her blog to be visited by everyone.
3. Each award winner has to show the award and put the name and link to the blog that has given her/him the award itself.
4. The Award winner and the one who has given the prize have to show the link of “Arte Y Pico” blog, so everyone will know the origin of this award.
5. To show these rules.

Tania - Poekietoe's Corner -- I was introduced to this blog through SCS. I really love all her projects!
Amanda - Inkspirations -- Amanda has some amazing creativity. Her cards are beautiful and she has recipes as well!! Definitely worth going to visit!!!!
Bensarmom - Trusting in the Lord for all Things -- You just have to go visit this blog for some great inspiration.
Cambria - Stamp a little Love Baby! -- While I feel almost certain that this blog has probably received this award, it is definitely worth it. I LOVE visiting Cambria's blog!!
Pam - Pam's Pride -- You just have to see what this lady can accomplish. She not only papercrafts, she also sews the most beautiful clothes and makes awesome kid's jewelry! Make sure you stop by!!
Don't forget about the candy offer below!!!!

ANNOUNCEMENT - BLOG CANDY FOR HEROES!!

This is my very first blog candy offering... and it is a good one, if I do say so myself. However, there is a little bit of work involved!

Cards for Heroes is an organization that collects cards and sends them to our military personnel overseas. Some cards are sent to the service people themselves and some are sent blank, so that the service men and women can have something special to send back to their families! I think that this is a great cause!

My friend Mindy, on the SCS PIF thread, is one of the people who has volunteered to collect and send cards for the organization. Her goal is to collect at least 1200 Christmas cards!!! I want to help.

Your challenge is this:

SEND AS MANY CARDS, TO MY FRIEND MINDY YOUNG, AS YOU CAN. SEND THESE CARDS SO THEY ARRIVE IN MINDY'S HANDS ON OR BEFORE MAY16th, 2008. I WILL HAVE A RANDOM DRAW FOR THE BLOG CANDY ON MAY 17th.

These can be card fronts that you make into cards or brand new cards you make or some of your old cards you keep in your stash. I do ask, that you only send cards that you would be proud to receive! Mindy's address can be found HERE.

How to get an entry:
1.) 1 Blog candy entry for each 10 cards sent (10 of the cards should be Christmas/Hanukkah/Kwanzaa/Winter cards. If you only want one entry...send 10 Christmas cards, if you want more than one... send any multiple of 10 as long as 10 are Christmas/Hanukkah/Kwanzaa/Winter based.)
MAKE SURE THAT SOMEWHERE ON THE BOX/ENVELOPE OR IN THE BOX/ENVELOPE YOU HAVE MY NAME!!! NEWSTAMPINADDICT BLOG CANDY ENTRY!!!! THIS IS IMPORTANT. IF MINDY DOESN'T SEE THIS, SHE CAN'T TELL THAT THE DONATION IS ENTITLED TO AN ENTRY!!!

2.) 1 additional entry if you also post a link to my blog candy on your blog. Just leave me a comment with a link to your post. IMPORTANT - YOU MUST ALSO SEND AT LEAST 10 CARDS TO EARN AN ADDITIONAL ENTRY.

3.) To steal a page from my friend Pam, 1 additional entry for every person that participates by sending cards and leaves a comment telling me they learned of this from you!!! AGAIN, YOU MUST SEND IN AT LEAST 10 CARDS TO EARN AN ADDITIONAL ENTRY.

If you have any questions, please feel free to let me know.

OH, you want to know what you can win?
The first person, whose name is randomly drawn, will win the Classic Square Nestabilities (small) !

The second person, whose name is randomly drawn, will win 3 House Mouse stamps!
(Mice Drops, Poppin Good Birthday, Chocolate Heart02)

What are you waiting for? Start Stamping!!!!

This is my attempt at Julee's Mojo Week 34 challenge. It coincides with a new release of some awesome stamps from Verve Visual. It would definitely be worth your time to check out the "shop".

The bees are popped up on dimensionals and have dazzling diamonds on their wings. I sponged the CB pieces with More Mustard to add a little more dimension. The sentiment in the corner, just says "True friends" -- It's a generic all occassion card! TFL!

Ink- SU! Basic Black, Marigold Morning, More Mustard, Close to Cocoa, True Thyme, Vintage Violet

Some are cards for the soldiers/airmen themselves and many are cards that these brave people can send back to their families. Check out Impress Yourself for all the details.

Another Challenge (2 of em actually)

I knew I wanted to make a card last night so I was trying to figure out what challenge to try. Allison (http://stampinwhenican.blogspot.com/) posts a challenge every Sunday. Last Sunday it was to case a fellow blogger. Then my friend Tami (http://journeyoflifetamijo.blogspot.com/) posted a challenge on her blog. Well I managed to complete both with just one card!!!

I cased Denise (http://thepaperlandscaper.blogspot.com/2008/04/huggy-monkey.html) or used her as my inspiration...howver you choose to look at it. Tami's challenge was to use a monkey, like Denise's (peanutbee on SCS) card does.... Can you say lucky for me???

Anyway, here is today's double challenge card.
Recipe:
Stamps: Stampin' Up! Older and Wiser
Paper: Summer Sun, Kraft, and White
Ink: Chocolate Chip
Accessories: Cuttlebug, Nestabilities, and Twinkling H20's
Thanks for the inspiration Denise!!

Something New for me!!

So, the challenge is for blog candy on http://www.thepaperlandscaper.blogspot.com/ . The theme is April Showers bring May flowers. I received this image "spring greetings" from luvallthisstampin over on the PIF thread... My DDSS big sis turned me on to Twinkling H20s.. So thanks to both of you for helping me create and to peanutbee for giving me the reason... this time ;-)

The new for me comes in the form of the Twinkling H20s (http://www.luminarteinc.com/catalog/twinkling-h20s.html) - which I happened to find at Archiver's last weekend after the fabulous card from my big sis! Also, I finally got brave enough to try out my nestabilities in my cuttlebug! It was soooo much fun!!! I NEED them all now and the only people to blame are my friends on the PIF thread who made me need some to begin with....

Obviously, I need photography lessons

Ok, ok.. I know I don't take pictures well. Hopefully you can at least get the idea and pretend that the picture isn't crooked. A friend of mine fell and shattered her wrist while roller skating (Hi Ellen). The sources in the know told me that one of her favorite colors is purple, so.... here is my tribute to purple!

This is a very simple card, you will come to notice that those are my favorite kind to make.

Recipe:

Stampin' Up! Cardstock: Blush Blossom, Pale Plum, Perfect Plum and Whisper White

Stampin' Up! Ink: Perfect Plum and Elegant Eggplant

Stamp Sets: Stampin' Up! Garden Whimsy and Hero Arts Clear (H)

Accessories: Stampin' Up! Fine Cosmo glitter, Scor-Pal

I learned how to do the scoring on the Pale Plum base and the Whisper White from the wonderful GinaK. Have you seen her blog? http://blog.ginakdesigns.com/ Definitely worth your while if you are into papercrafts! This was from the Scor-Pal Tutorial #1. You can find all her tutorials on the left hand side of the page. I will give you this warning, if you don't have a Scor-Pal yet, you will want one soon... I promise!!!

I'm going to try for just a while

Ok-- so this weekend I decided that I will try this blog thing...for at least a month. We'll see how it goes. I was at girls weekend and my friends were very supportive. I really don't know if I can do this justice, but heck... why not try! This is one of the latest cards I made. The image is one that got from Swap4Fun on the PIF thread at SCS. I used the Color Challenge from SCS to inspire the colors. I really am quite proud at how this one turned out ;-)

My First entry

So many people are starting blogs, I thought I might try to start one myself. We'll see how this goes :-)
