Brithdays Continued

I KNOW, call Ripleys... Two posts in a row!!! What is this world coming to?? I just wanted to share the other birthday card that I made this past weekend. As with the other one, this uses a MOJO sketch. I paper pieced the table and used some crystal effects to represent the water in the vase. I also used this card as an opportunity to showcase two sides of an SU Designer paper. Hope the recipient likes this card. Thanks for looking!

Birthdays, Birthdays, Birthdays

Ooohhhhh, I actually got a chance to stamp this weekend. I recently joined the WRAK birthday fairies on SCS. I figured this would ensure I would stamp at least a couple of cards a month. This is one of the two birthday cards I made this weekend. I am using Cupcakeabella, which I received through the PIF thread. The sketch is from the MOJO collection (what else?) You can find the awesome MOJO sketches at Poetic Artistry Blog. I used a little Crystal effects on the cherry. Thanks for looking!

Bookmarks - Who knew?

I am constantly in awe of the creativity that is out there. I was at my upline's the other day and we made these super cute and easy ribbon bookmarks. After I completed this one, I thought to myself, these are perfect as teacher appreciation gifts! Let's hope I don't open my mouth and get myself into an issue where I'm making 200 or something like that! Anyway.. just wanted to share. The top section is made by sponging craft ink onto a piece of chipboard. There are two circles (1 3/4 inch) to cover up the center, one on the front and one on the back. We continued using circles to decorate. The ribbon is attached to the chipboard with sticky strip. The bottom uses a filigree and a knot. Easy Peasy!! Thanks for looking!

Fall Festival

Have I ever mentioned that I have the word "SUCKER" tattoed across my forehead?? Well, I do. I decided to go to the parent organization meeting at DD's school. One of the largest functions that they do is the Fall Festival. There is a different craft or activity in each classroom. I opened my big mouth and suggested that it would be nice if one of the rooms had a 6*6 scrap page so the parents would have a take home from the event. THEN, I said I would coordinate it. Mind you, the LAST thing I asked was how many I should prep... 200!!!!!!!! Well too late to back out now. So I went surfing on SCS and found an adorable, simple, 6*6 scrapbook page.

I CASE'D it here. I think it will work well, without too much trouble. Since kids are putting this together I even left off the ribbon with staples :-) Whaddya think?? I made one with a halloween theme and one with a Fall theme, in case there are people who don't "celebrate" halloween.

Teacher gift

As I mentioned yesterday, I wanted to make something small for DD's teacher. I finally completed the 4 cards last night. I hope 4 cards doesn't look chintzy... but I'm running out of time. All of these cards use the same color inks and cardstock. One is even SUO! I was proud of myself. (speaking of SUO, I cannot find my markers anywhere! I'm about to really panic)

Teacher gift a la Verve~

I decided, with the help of a few friends, that it was not cheesy to make a gift for a daycare lead "teacher". So, of course, the problem begins... What do I do??? I decided on the standard... NOTECARDS. Ok, that's settled. Now what? I had seen some beautiful cards from JenMarie over at Splitcoast. She used the Verve OSW challenge sketches to make them! A HA! Now, I know. I managed to get 2 whole cards made last night, but didn't have time to take pics. So, this is just the teaser for the pics that will come later! Take some time to craft, it will make you feel better :-)

Ok- I'm really trying to be better at posting. I had some time last night and a co-worker has a birthday (great combination for a stamper). I know that she likes purple, so I thought I would search through my stash and come up with something. Sometimes I just don't get how my mind works... but anyway. First, I looked for a sketch. Again, I turned to Julee's Mojo Monday sketches. I found one I really liked and looked like a great option. Now.... what stamp to use. That took about 10 minutes and then I remembered that I have ALL of THESE images from the PIF thread. So I start going through them one by one and... voila! Paige has a present. That will be perfect! I reach for my handy dandy copics and go to town. I have now finished coloring and realize that the sketch calls for an Oval scalloped piece. This image really won't fit in a oval. I guess I'll try a circle. Over to the CB with my nesties..I cut out the image and a scalloped back and... ooooppppppppppsss, this is too big to justify putting a square behind it like the sketch.. So I improvise again. Below is what came out. So, thanks to Julee for unknowingly providing my inspiration for this card!

Stamps: Paige has a Present
Paper: White, Archivers, Elegant Eggplant, Lovely Lilac
Ink: Black, Lovely Lilac
Accessories: Nestabilities, Sakura Clear Stardust, Rhinestone Brads, SU Edge scallop, Ribbon, Copics

Thanksgiving WRAK Card

Another sample of the WRAK labor day challenges. This card will also be sent to the troops. I used a Mojo Monday sketch. You can find those on Julee's Poetic Artistry blog. I ove Julee's sketches. They are so inspiring. For this card I added a little bling with the Stardust Clear pen. I also added the strips of Argyle dry embossed cardstock. For some reason, argyle makes me think warm and somehow transfers to a cold thanksgiving day. That might only work in my little world, but it works :-)

Stamps: Turkey Riley (hanna stamps)
Paper: Mellow Moss, Always Artichoke (Textured), Really Rust, More Mustard, White
Ink: Really Rust, Black
Accessories: Brads, Nestabilities, CB Argyle Folder, Ticket Corner punch, Copics

TFL!

I promised an updated blog today with a card... so here it is. This is one of the cards that I made for the Labor Day WRAK challenges on Splitcoast. The goal was to make a winter wishes card as opposed to simply a Christmas card. One of my fellow WRAK'rs from the UK sent me this adorable Cherished Teddies image. I colored the image with prismas and odorless mineral spirits. The nave bg is embossed with the CB and I used the Ice Crystal cut and emboss folder from CB for the snowflake. The center is a rihnestone brad by SU.

Stamps: Cherished Teddies (Stampendous), Snowflakes
Paper: Archivers, night of Navy, White
Ink: Black, Versafine Gray
Accessories: Rihnestone Brad, prismas, OMS, Fun Flock, CB Snowflakes folder and Snow fun (cut and emboss)

I did it again

Yes, I am a horrible blogger. But, I do have a new card to show you. I will post it tomorrow. I may need to give away some candy to make it up to all of you (well the few that read my blog anyway).
