Another Double Challenge

This is a double challenge card that I made last night. It was way late, I know. This combines Color combination 172 and sketch challenge 182 from Splitcoast. When I first read the colors, I was a bit skeptical. Looking at them together though, screamed BEACH to me. I had recently received some SU Stipple shells images through the PIF thread and so I decided that the beach was definitely in my futre :-) The smallest teal panels are embossed with sea shells or sea horses..both of these from a double sided embossing plate made by Spellbinders (really, what did I ever do without that company???) The center of the sand dollars have crystal effects on them for a raised look. I used the scor-pal to create a grid on my base so I would get the squares lined up correctly... All the coloring is with Twinkling H20s. I just love that shimmer. I also used some of the "not so new anymore" silver HPH and some white organdy ribbon. The main image panel and the conch shell are popped up on dimensionals. Let me know what you think and thanks for coming to check out my little blog!

Weddings

I love Weddings... especially when it means that my friends are going to be entering into a love filled marriage! My friend Brenda, who'd better be to busy planning to read my blog, is getting married on Friday. I have not met her finacee, strange I know... but I know he's a keeper because Brenda wouldn't choose anyone but! Anyway, here is my tribute to her wedding.. the card!


I used my new edgeabilities by Spellbinders. I haven't seen these used a lot, but they are so cool!!!!! Brenda is having lilies at the wedding, I think...(at least she was looking for lily stamps) so of course I used the Lilies Edgeability. The embossed sections are colored with Twinkling H20s as is the brides dress and the grooms tux. I used copics on the bride and groom. I also added a little sparkle on the bouquet and the sentiment with the stardust clear gel pen! TFL!

Yet another SCS challenge

I'm sure you have all figured out where I get inspiration by now! The SCS color challenge this week really had me stumped. To tell the truth, I'm still a little stumped. I "see" the saffron and regal rose... but that red? I'm still not so sure :-) Anyway, there are a couple of birthdays coming up so I decided to use the challenge to create a birthday card. Of course, I had to use my new precious moments stamp!

The edge of the main image is sponged with saffron. I used stickles on the plate, though it is a little difficult to see. TFL!

An SUO card AND BLOG CANDY!!!!

So, I've been feeling a little guilty that I have been ignoring SU a bit. I have a couple of friends who are not feeling well so I decided to make a get well card for them using Stampin' Up! I got the images from a good friend in Ohio. This is what I came up with.

Kinkade!

For those of you who don't know, yet.... I LOVE the Thomas Kinkade stamps from Cornish Heritage Farms .

This stamp is the newest release, entitled "Hometown Pride". I absolutely HAD to have this stamp. I colored this with Copics (go figure) with the exception of the flag and the sentiment. I still haven't managed to find a way to use copics in small spaces. So, the flag and sentiment use Brilliant Blue, Real Red, and a white gel pen (SU!). The whole Kinkade panel is up on dimensionals as are the flag and the sentiment panel. I hope you like and let me add.... if I can do this... I PROMISE, you can too.

This is a Thank you card, that I don't believe I've shared yet. It is really simple, but I think it came out well. I used Infinite Goodness from SU and Basic Grey DP. The color combo is Soft Sky, Bayou Blue and Very Vanilla. I also took the opportunity to try out the metallic rub on paste that I found at my local XPEDX.

SCS Challenges

Funny thing. I had the idea to use the color challenge and to create a card using this sandcastle image. Once I got started, it kind of morphed into the sketch challenge as well. I had seen the sketch in the gallery, but somehow it slipped by me that is was the challenge :-) The image is colored with COPICs (Sky B24, B41, B45 - sand E31, E33, E35). The shells were colored with Twinkling H20's (Iridescent Red) and the castle was outlined with Twinkiling H20s (Chestnut Brown).

The castle image is adhered to red and popped up with dimensionals on the Bayou Blue Scallop and Red circle. I used the Sanded background (tone on tone) on the Soft sky. Thanks for looking!

Bridal/Bachelorette

Hi all! I had a fun weekend. One of my good friends is going to take the plunge and get married! She had a bridal shower/bachelorette party on Saturday night. Now, to a stamper, that means... OH YEAH! A reason to make cards!!!!! So I took the opportunity to make 2 cards.

This is the bridal shower card. I used the D'vine Swirl cuttlebug folder, the scor-pal AND nesties! My friend Sandy RAK'd me some of PTI's cardstock. It is phenomenal! What you see here is the berry sorbet and a piece of coordinating DP. The cake image was a RAK from my friend Jen... (I have awesome friends ) There are stickles to deliniate the tiers of the cake. I used Groovy Guava from SU! for the sponging.

The bachelorette card is an ALL SU! card. I got the template from SCS. It was used for JAN08VSNN. There is a little "Fine Lace" on the top and bottom but you can't see it very well. All in all, I thought it turned out really cute. It got a couple of laughs at the party as well. :-)
